Pineapple Cake
This is a fantastic recipe, brings back old memories of me when I was a kid.
This is my grandmothers recipe.
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 package of JELLO pineapple flavored gelatin
- 2 cups of vanilla ice-cream
- 1 can of crushed pineapple without the juice
Add gelatin to the boiling water. Stir, and refrigerate for 1/2 hour or until it
begins to thicken. Whip in with mixer the vanilla ice-cream. Fold in the crushed pineapple.
Set in bowl in refrigerator to thicken and make the base.
Make an angel food cake or a sponge cake or cooked pie crust. Slice the cake to 1 1/2 inch thick.
Spread mixture over the cake and cover with dream whip. Chill and serve.
